Dr. Shah was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was a National Merit Scholar, testing in the top one-half of one percent of all students in the United States. Dr. Shah attended Northwestern University for college as well as Medical School and was a member of the Honors Program in Medical Education. He completed an internship in General Surgery, and then a residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) at Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. Shah was then one of 38 individuals selected for advanced Fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Shah is Board-Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT).
After completing his fellowship in 2009, he was appointed a member of the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Currently, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at UTHSCSA.
